We’re excited to introduce our newest laser, the Ultra Lase MD, to our patients! It slots between milder light treatments like our Limelight IPL and the “full blast” ablative fractional CO2 laser, our Deka DOT. Ultra is considered a non-ablative resurfacing laser that treats more than just sunspots — more like sun-aged skin where the quality of the skin has been affected in addition to uneven skin tone/pigmentation. Ultra’s thulium laser puts thousands of tiny thermal channels into the skin, enough to stimulate pigment mobilization and deep enough to stimulate collagen and skin remodeling. Those channels, and the fact that the skin is left quite “thirsty” for water after the treatment, makes for an additional therapeutic opportunity with the application of serums right after the Ultra Lase MD treatment. This allows nutrients like antioxidants or skin lighteners to work much deeper than conventional topicals. What’s more, Ultra Lase MD treatments require very little to no downtime from your usual routine.
Because the target for the Ultra is actually water, and not pigment, if is safe for all skin tones and all year around. We often layer this treatment on top of our tremendous collagen booster RF microneedling treatment, Genius, to give patients the “full stack” skin solution. Genius uses microneedles and energy deep under the skin in the dermis layer, while Ultra applies its energy to overhaul the upper layers of skin. The results are truly fantastic.
